Actually "Fifty Abstract Paintings Which as Seen from Two Yards Change into Three Lenins Masquerading as Chinese and as Seen from Six Yards Appear as the Head of a Royal Bengal Tiger" is how Dali entitled this piece.
The size of the piece is - 51 x 76 cm. If one looks at it closely it is easy to discern the different paintings within. Each "internal painting" in the guise of a geometrical shape. I count 49 distinct geometrical shapes within the tableau. But I guess if one includes the greater whole or "complete work" in the count - that number gets rounded off to 50.

where are the other 49?
Good one! I guess Dali couldn't count. ;-)
